Random thoughts about recent moments
Here are a few random thoughts about the past few days — and what’s ahead… *Drake shows it’s mettle. Keno Davis’s team was at a tipping point on Saturday afternoon. Lose, and you have lost 3 out of 4, plummet out of the Top 25, and face some serious pressure in the final two regular season games not to mention Arch Madness in St. Louis. Instead, Iowa’s Bulldogs showed the same toughness they’ve shown all season long and dispatched Butler in HISTORIC HINKLE FIELDHOUSE I think HISTORIC shou

Dropped back to even 16-16-2 after Drake’s tough loss. In these Bulldog’s defense, Missouri State was closing their ancient arena, the John Q. Hammons Student Center, on senior night they have five seniors on their roster, and emotion simply inspired them to levels which none of the Bears had ever previously attained. They shot .596 from the floor and .643 from the arch. Maybe Drake did play tired or overconfident after the Butler win, but I view MSU’s shooting numbers as products of divine

Salvaging Religion
Religion has become an ugly thing, a word that denotes the worst in human nature and not the best, and I can see why some Pagans might prefer terms such as religiosity to denote what they’re about. Of course the modern usage of "religion" excludes us - we have no dogma or doctrine or sacred writings. Here we are in a world where Jews have to prove they’re Jews to get married, where candidates for President have to prove they’re Christians - and not just Christians, but the right kind of Christia

The State Of The Other 22, Week 16
The State of College Basketball is a brand-new ratings system that uses a lot of good basketball sense, per-game team performance ratings and degradation of older results to rank the teams from No. 1 to 341 here’s the long-winded version. In its overall form, it retroactively picked three of the Final Four in a simulation of last season. For our purposes here, it gives the world’s only hype-free, non-voting, computer poll of teams in the lower 22 conferences. This is the full 246-team chart

The Marycuse Orangeapins College Basketball Closer
The College Basketball Closer is written by the gang at Storming the Floor. As basketball fans watch the bubble report every season, two names seem to come up with alarming frequency: the Maryland Terrapins and the Syracuse Orange. As we were batting those names around over at STF, we came up with the radical theory that perhaps the difference between the two teams is razor-thin. In fact, they are living parallel lives.
